Stefi Cohen breaks nutrition myths for better results

Dr. Cohen recently took to Instagram and broke some myths about breakfast. In the video, she is sitting in a gym and annihilating some common misconceptions that hinder workouts. She captioned the post with the words, “The most important meal of the day? Your pre-workout. That’s if you’re a true muscle mommy/daddy. If you learned something, don’t forget to tag a buddy and save.”

In the video clip, she elaborates on her stance with the words, “Breakfast is a myth.” Furthermore, she spells out the optimum amount of carbs and protein necessary in meals. “You’re gonna be getting your energy from your carbohydrate. Aim at one gram per kilogram of body weight. Then the protein that you want is 0.5 grams per kilogram of body weight,” informed the professional boxer (1 kg equals 2.2 pounds).

The professional weightlifter boasts 1.1 million followers on Instagram. Her advice might prove helpful for many fitness enthusiasts. However, all bodies are different, and so are the nutritional requirements. Additionally, a trial-and-error process might help one find an adequate routine. Nonetheless, it is a good idea to follow scientific evidence. Earlier, she also broke some fitness myths about growing muscles. 

Dr. Cohen highlights the reasons for the inability to grow muscles 

The fitness coach observed a common trend where people blame their genetics for the inability to grow muscles. Cohen sternly tells her followers, “You don’t have sh*t genetics. Your Hamstring doesn’t grow because you don’t know how to train them.” Furthermore, she opines that this mantra holds for any weak body part. “You are not performing the exercise correctly and you are not choosing the right exercise either,” informed the former soccer player. She explained to her subscribers the reasons for failing to grow muscles- it is a mix of poor form, intensity, volume, and wrong exercise.

Dr. Cohen’s approach to fitness and recovery is very innovative and unique. She uses a method called “autoregulation” to understand the limits of her body. The doctor had once hit a plateau in terms of her powerlifting performance. Additionally, she was in a lot of pain. The fitness guru tuned into her knowledge to improve her fitness levels.
