After getting motivated by her mother’s words, Shaw started lifting at the tender age of 15. During her short speech after winning, she revealed, “This one is very special. So thank you so much mama for teaching me all the principles of being humble, being faithful, being disciplined to what you are committed to, removing the distractions and this one is definitely for you. I love you so very much mama.”
