Kicking bad habits can be very cumbersome. However, sometimes people have to step up their game to fight life’s challenges. One such man is Taylor Robertson from North Carolina, whose weight had ballooned to a whopping 324 lbs. Taylor attributed his weight gain to a poor lifestyle after college. Inspired by runner David Goggins, the bodybuilding enthusiast shed all the weight.

Throughout this tough weight loss journey, Taylor sought inspiration from none other than Navy Seal runner David Goggins. Taylor used to tune into Goggins’ videos for running motivation. Goggins also once weighed over 300 pounds, but he transformed his life around completely and now inspires millions to do the same.

Taylor’s toxic habits were part of the problem

A TikTok video by a calebpowerlifter revealed Taylor Robertson’s weight loss saga. According to the video, people considered Robertson a “failure” at 27. He would drink 12 cans of soda every day and for lunch and dinner, he would have KFC. To top it all, Robertson was into heavy drinking. His condition got so worse that “he weighed 324 pounds and sometimes was not even breathing while he was sleeping.” Because of this unhealthy way of living “…. As fate would have it, the Carolina youngster stumbled upon some David Goggins video that had a similar story to Taylor, but he transformed his life. Following in the footsteps of the endurance athlete, Robertson went to the extreme step of discarding his bad habits to shed pounds. As per the TikTok, video “he started eating only one meal a day and spent two hours a day in the gym but most importantly, he quit alcohol and Pepsi. Just from quitting drinking, he lost 18 pounds immediately. Over the next nine months, he lost an additional 134 pounds.” One can attribute a large part of his success to Goggin’s guidance, who is an extremely dynamic and motivating individual. Robertson’s fiance was also another reason he completely turn around his lifestyle.

David Goggins was instrumental in Taylor’s success

According to the official site of David Goggins, he is a “retired Navy Seal and the only member of the U.S. Armed Forces to complete SEAL training, Army Ranger School, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller training.” Triathlete Goggins has a very illustrious athletic career, taking part in over 70 endurance races. Goggins has authored the book: “Never Finished: Unshackle Your Mind And Win The War Within.”

The book is a memoir of sorts that teaches readers to tap into their mental strength to reach their maximum potential. It motivates an individual to do their very best, no matter the starting point. There is no quick fix but only hard work that will lead on to success.

Encouraged by the focus placed on mental strength, Robertson lost over 100 pounds in 9 months. He weighs around 172 pounds now and runs 5k whenever he gets free time.
