The journey towards 2023 Mr. Olympia has been exciting, and Joe Weider’s weekend had kickstarted with a bang. This year, the IFBB made minor changes to the press conference and Meet the Olympians events, making them more interactive . The bodybuilding favorite CBum was in attendance and made sensational claims during the event. 

Chris Bumstead is competing for his fifth title this year and is confident that his rivals will get no chance to win the Sandow trophy in the Classic Physique division.

The 28-year-old has been vocal about his difficulties prepping for this year’s Super Bowl of Bodybuilding. But the champion didn’t give up and sailed the path and will soon stun his fans by posing on the Classic Physique stage. But he already knows the verdict of the upcoming competition.

 

I would say, I’m absolutely walking home with that trophy, ” the Canadian bodybuilder affirmed during the press conference at Orlando ahead of the Classic Physique event. Despite the change of rules, the 28-year-old is positive about his winning journey and said, “I put in the work, I know these guys are fighting for second place,” savagely roasting his opponents.

But CBum is not only focused on the result this year, but is enjoying the process. “I want to feel the whole journey. I wanted to have fun training. I wanted to enjoy the process, feel the ups, feel the downs, not just numb them all, so that when I show up here the week before the Olympia, I’m present, I’m happy, I’m excited to be here,” he revealed at the press conference. However, CBum almost quit the competitive arena earlier, making a shocking revelation.

Chris Bumstead struggled with training at the start of 2023

The 4x Mr. Olympia has been vocal about his bodybuilding journey to his fans for a very long time. After winning the 2022 Mr. Olympia Classic Physique title, CBum revealed how he tore his bicep just days before the main event. However, the 28-year-old opened up about how this year’s training start was very challenging in an emotional post, shaking the bodybuilding community.

But he soon picked up the pace and trained rigorously to bring out mass and conditioning for Mr. Olympia. Putting aside his retirement decision on hold, CBum will compete with great enthusiasm for the 2023 Sandow trophy.
