IFBB Vice President and head judge Tyler Manion took to social media to break down Wesley Vissers’s upset victory at the Arnold Classic 2024. The Dutch Oak pulled off a miracle, defeating defending champion Ramon Dino and runner-up Urs Kalecinski. Bodybuilding fans were left in awe because Wesley Vissers placed seventh at last year’s Olympia.
In the Instagram video, Tyler Manion described why Wesley Vissers defeated favorites and veterans like Dino, Kalecinski, and Breon Ansley. The NPC President broke down how he scored the bodybuilders on each pose and why he did so. The detailed breakdown provided much-needed clarity to every fan of the Classic Physique division.

Manion addressed the first complaint Ramon Dino’s fans brought to the table about Vissers having a wider waist. The IFBB Vice President explained that the Dutch bodybuilder had sufficiently built up his shoulders and quads to compensate for his wider midsection. However, Vissers truly trumped the defending champion while posing.

While comparing the front-double biceps between Wesley Vissers and the champion, Manion explained Visser’s v-taper, quads, and vacuum matched Dino’s. However, “His arms are even better,“ Manion said about the Dutch Oak. The 2024 Arnold Classic Physique champion also brought better conditioning on stage.
Manion said it was the same story in the back-double biceps and side chest. The head judge pointed to the “big improvements in his (Wesley Vissers) side leg.” While Manion felt Dino’s lower body looked more “complete” than the 30-year-old’s, he fell too far behind in conditioning and posing.
While Urs Kalecinski couldn’t match either of the tops in size or condition, Manion explained his upper body needed improvements. The NPC Vice President also said that Ramon Dino’s physique had regressed since last year’s Olympia. However, it wasn’t all bad news for the champion who lost his crown.

Tyler Manion and Ramon Dino’s backstage meeting
The Arnold Classic 2024 judge didn’t just criticize Ramon Dino for his shortcomings. Manion mentioned meeting with the 2023 Arnold Classic Physique champion backstage in Ohio. He told Dino that his posing played a part in his loss against the Dutch Oak and directed him to the right approach.
Unlike Wesley Vissers, Dino couldn’t display the full potential of his physique, and Manion gave him tips on the spot. Shortly after the finals, Manion worked with the 2023 Classic Physique Olympia runner-up to work on improving his posing. According to the IFBB Vice President, just a few instructions made a world of difference in Dino’s posing.

While Ramon Dino and Urs Kalecinsk couldn’t clinch the title, the future looks promising for them. According to Tyler Manion, both bodybuilders need to work on their weaknesses, just like Welsey Vissers did to become the 2024 Arnold Classic Physique champion.
