Greg Doucette has often tried correcting both bodybuilders and gymgoers on their wrongly perceived notions about fitness and their habits around it. The IFBB Pro coach explained this time how he honestly approaches training every week. While most of people have their own explanations to choose the quantity of work to be put on each body part a week, Doucette gives reason of his own.
Greg Doucette knows quite well that a great amount of fitness enthusiasts usually train each muscle group only once every week. This according to him gives the person a comparatively lesser opportunity to build their targeted body part in the whole year. Thus, Doucette explained why he thinks that one should be flexible with the number of days for training each body part per week.

In his latest YouTube video, the coach talked about one of the most crucial aspects of any fitness journey that many people simply overlook. He brought to attention that people who train each of their body parts only once a week would give themselves only 52 opportunities to grow them, however, twice a day would increase the opportunities to 104. He also stated, “You don’t need to do 10 to 20 sets of anything on any given day.”
Greg Doucette highlighted that one might get scared because of its intensity and then find it hard to recover from it. Thus he stated, “You’re going to get so scared, it’s harder to recover.” Then he proceeded to explain why one needs to split their workout wisely so that they can target each muscle twice or thrice per week. He said, “By splitting up your workout so that you’re training each muscle twice or even three times a week you’re going to be able to train that muscle harder with less volume.”

Doucette explained that he trains his whole body about two or three times in week at least. But he explains why that amount is enough for him even as an IFBB pro coach because he adds cardio to his fitness regime. He stated, “Personally I train my entire body two or three times a week. I don’t go to the gym all that often. I also do a lot of cardio, normally six days a week.” He focused on the fact that if one works out with weights at about the same time, that would certainly lead to overtraining. Thus he suggested maintaining both gym days with targeted muscles as well as cardio in a way that one avoids overtraining.
