Transitioning from being a champion bodybuilder who competed in over 100 competitions, including 72 as an IFBB Pro, to becoming one of the top coaches in today’s era, he has truly experienced it all.

Additionally, Sarcev, often referred to as ‘The Mind’, maintains an active presence on social media, consistently engaging his audience. Recently, in his latest Instagram post, the 59-year-old veteran bodybuilder openly discussed his insulin usage.

Recently, the 1989 Mr. Universe astounded his fans and fellow bodybuilders when he shared his latest photos on his Instagram handle, showcasing his old pic from 2018 and his current incredible physique at 59. Moreover, the IFFB pro coach heavily relies on his training partner, Hunter Campbell, who keeps him disciplined and doesn’t let him get away with frequent excuses like “I’m too old.” Playfully, Milos stated that Campbell would be accountable if his admirable physique transformed into a skinny-fat one in the future. “If I stay skinny-fat…and old – I’ll blame it on you,” wrote Sarcev in his post’s caption.

The ex-Olympia competitor revealed that he no longer uses insulin due to its specific requirements and the hassle it creates in timing everything perfectly. Sarcev mentioned in the upcoming OLDSCHOOL ROUNDTABLE podcast, featuring 2008 Mr. Olympia Dexter Jackson, retired IFFB-pro Dennis James, and former Mr. Olympia contender Chris Cormier, that the topic of insulin was discussed. Dennis inquired whether Sarcev still uses it, to which he responded, “NO.” He explained that its usage is specific and indeed a “pain in the a**,” since “you have to time everything perfectly and I just don’t have the time for that.”

Nevertheless, in 2018, The Serbian bodybuilder spent 2.5 months in China with the 2018 Goldentimes Bodybuilding Grand Prix, China winner Lu Chen Hui where he lived like a dedicated bodybuilder. Consequently, he trained rigorously, maintained a clean diet, and used a bit of HRT to achieve his current shape.

Furthermore, while 4x Mr. Olympia champion Jay Cutler embarked on his “Fit at 50” journey which Tthe ‘Mind’ jokingly referred to as kindergarten stuff, he expressed enthusiasm for being “Jacked at 60.”

Milos Sarcev’s controversial stance on insulin use in Bodybuilding

In a 2021 interview with Generation Iron, Milos Sarcev asserted that he introduced insulin to bodybuilding and continued to support its use. He contended that insulin played a critical role in advancing the sport, enabling athletes to elevate their performance to new heights. In regards to health, he believed that the drug isn’t dangerous so long as the person using it is informed and educated about its use.

Despite the Siberian bodybuilder asserting that he is not currently using insulin, he relied on it at least for a period of time in his competitive career. Many professionals, including former IFBB pro and trainer George Farah, opposed this practice; however, the IFFB-pro trainer recommended it to numerous athletes. Sarcev recognized that doctors needed to prioritize safety when advising or promoting drugs for recreational use. He firmly believed that, when used correctly and responsibly, incorporating insulin into a bodybuilder’s regimen makes perfect scientific sense.
