Mike O’Hearn recently took to his official Instagram account @mikeohearn and shared a video where he is seen explaining an important aspect of weightlifting. He goes on by stating that there are reasons why he prefers doing particular workouts and why he makes his trainees do them. It is because of his extensive years of knowledge that he is able to comprehend what works best for whom.

He goes about explaining the aspect of understanding the body with the example of inclined bench press. He says, “It’s a great exercise. It gives you a beautiful upper chest. The things you miss are the things I credit.” He goes on to say how, if any exercise one is performing, it is important to make sure that the stress is at the right angle hitting the right muscle.

He further adds that getting a beautiful chest should only come as a side effect of the training, but the focus should be on doing it correctly. Mike O’Hearn adds, “There are so many incredible things about weightlifting, and then there are things about weightlifting that, if done incorrectly, can destroy you.” He once even highlighted why it is important to sometimes refrain from going too heavy and let your body recover so that you know that you are on the right path.
