The Classic Physique division of Mr Olympia has seen Chris Bumstead reigning the stage for five years now. Every time, CBum takes the stage with the best physique and stance leaving the audience and judges stunned. Even during the Mr. Olympia 2023, Bumstead took home the title despite getting injured just ten days before the event.

The soon-to-be dad and winner of five Mr Olympia has taken the bodybuilding world by storm and even bodybuilding experts like Victor Martinez, Ehsan Farahi, Edwin Mejia Jr., and Vlad Yudin agree to this fact.

As the experts were discussing the happenings around Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan at the 2023 Olympia, Vlad Yudin brought about another topic. “Classic Physique is getting more and more interesting than the Open, do you guys agree with that statement?”

Edwin Mejia Jr, responding to this statement, explained, “Well I think it’s getting interesting because of Chris Bumstead. If Chris Bumstead loses then basically Olympia loses.” According to the co-founder of Generation Iron, it is Chris Bumstead’s immense fan following and his massive stardom makes the Mr Olympia more interesting in the modern era. He even mockingly apologized for stating this “fact”.

He further said that if Bumstead loses an Olympia, then the valuation of the title would “go to the floor”. He said that Bumstead brings a lot of weight and value to the sport with his dedication, lifestyle, 22 million followers, and more. Even former Arnold Classic winner Victor Martinez agreed that the icon is very likable and is “making a lot of guys dreamers.”

Bumstead has inspired many to join the fitness industry and perhaps his New Year resolution might bring in new champions to the sport.

Chris Bumstead shares his New Year’s resolution

As New Year’s approached, Bumstead wrote a caption for his new Instagram post where he was working out and promised to document everything. He said, “I’m going to do my best in the new year to document on YouTube getting my a** back into elite shape with a relatively “balanced” lifestyle.”

The icon also decided that his main aim was to get shredded without getting bulky. Bumstead also revealed a way where his followers could walk on the path of fitness. He declared, “Also going to host a transformation challenge on my app with a low barrier to entry so y’all can join me on whatever your goals are.”
