Arnold Schwarzenegger and Donald Trump were part of a reality show on television called The Celebrity Apprentice. NBC’s show was hosted by the former President of the United States from 2008 to 2015, while the former California governor had a brief stint as host of The New Celebrity Apprentice in 2017. However, Arnie had to quit the show midway due to poor ratings, and later, the duo entered into a war of words on Twitter, now X.

Donald Trump recently reignited the old feud by adding his perspective to the entire episode as he spoke at the Concerned Women of America Summit.

The Celebrity Apprentice is a variation of The Apprentice (2004) that involves celebrities participating to win money for charity. Donald Trump hosted the show for seven seasons, and the Terminator actor hosted the last season. Recently, the 77-year-old commented on Arnold Schwarzenegger at the Concerned Women of America Summit. “That show ran for 12 years. 12 years, it was a tremendous success,” Trump said, speaking about The Apprentice show. The ex-president also confessed that the management wanted him to extend his tenure as host.

They said they wanted to renew my contract for long, to anything I wanted, they were willing to give because it was doing great all the time,” the elite businessman recollected. But Trump refused, and NBC opted for the Governator to host the show in 2017. “They gave it to Arnold Schwarzenegger, and that didn’t work out too well. That lasted about two minutes,” mocked the $2.5 billion-worth politician.

Trump further revealed what he was told during the incident. “Somebody said, “Do you want Arnold Schwarzenegger to succeed like never before and even top your ratings, which is almost impossible to do. But would you rather have that and we own the show, would you rather have that or would you rather have him fail,’” Trump recalled. ”I said, ‘Probably I’d rather see him fail to be honest with you,’ and he did. He failed, didn’t work out, but The Apprentice was great,” a gratified former President said of Arnie’s failure. Earlier this year, Schwarzenegger commented on Donald Trump’s candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections.

The Terminator actor is a proud Republican who wanted to run for the 2016 Presidential elections against Donald Trump. But that dream of Arnie could have never come true, as Schwarzenegger was not born in America. While speaking to CNN, Arnie confessed that his party needs a new face to compete in the elections in 2024.

“It’s sad to see that. That they couldn’t come up with a new talent, with a new face that is a reasonable, smart, intelligent person that can lead this country in a Republican way.” However, the 76-year-old is “Absolutely not” concerned about Trump’s candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections.
