Ronnie Coleman recently took to his Instagram and shared a throwback video of himself as a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In the video, as Coleman is greeted, he is asked about his experience in winning Mr. Olympia for the first time in his entire career. To this Ronnie Coleman said, “It was very overwhelming”.
As the video gradually moves ahead, to captivate the audience with the true essence of the felt emotion, the clip of Ronnie Coleman receiving his first title was displayed on the screen, seeing which he gets emotional and laughs it out. However, the journey to the throne has not been easy. As the video ends, Coleman is asked, “So how did this start? Were you like a 98 pound weakling?”
To think of the strongest bodybuilder in history to be weighing 98 pounds and being disappointed is unbelievable, but well, that’s the story of Coleman’s humble beginnings. He said, “Actually I was a 98 pound weakling when I was about five years old really, I’ve come a long way since then.” Coleman further goes on to explain the reason and motive behind the beginning of his extremely successful career.

On being asked how it all started, from being on the police force to dominating the bodybuilding world, Coleman explained that he started working out when he was 12 years old, but if he was ever asked whether he went to the gym or not, he preferred not saying the truth. He started getting big and joined the police force in 1989.
However, it all started when one of his friends took him to the gym and the gym owner pursued him to compete. However, Coleman was still not ready to give up pizzas and hamburgers, and to top that, he was not at all ready to get started on steroids.

However, the owner offered him a free membership to the gym if he would compete and that was what drove The King to make it professional!
