Tom Cruise’s preparation was tougher than the actual stunt

In a recent interview with a popular YouTube channel, The Project, Tom Cruise candidly discussed the various aspects that went into preparing for this dangerous stunt. He revealed that it took a month of continuous practice to master the stunt and execute it flawlessly on screen. However, this intensive preparation wasn’t limited to just one type of stunt. Cruise said it involved a range of activities, from motorcycle jumping to skydiving.

I did lots of skydiving, tracking, working again on the motorcycle, lots of motorcycle jumps,” he said in the interview. He also explained that he didn’t restrict himself to a particular practice approach. Instead, he tried his hand at various stunts and techniques to enhance his skills and ensure he could deliver the scene with absolute perfection.

Cruise went the extra mile by jumping from even lower altitudes. “I practiced a lot of unusual altitudes when I was skydiving, and I would jump very low,” he explained. By intentionally experiencing jumps from lower heights, he pushed himself to understand and master the art of keeping his nerves calm in tense situations. This dedication to his craft undoubtedly contributed to the flawless execution of the scene and added an extra layer of authenticity to his performance.
