Bodybuilders around the world have one common struggle when it comes to fitness. Often their mind stops them from giving it their fullest while they repeatedly challenge themselves to push their limits. The Quadfather Tom Platz hence tried his best to deal with the situation with a specific trick, which made him feel that working out was easier than it was in reality.

The 68-year-old former bodybuilder, Tom Platz got his nickname for his huge legs which were at 30 inches during his prime. Squats were, for him, one of the most crucial elements of his fitness regime, and hence his decision to be more productive with it was unusually creative.

Tom Platz revealed how he managed to fool his own mind and do more squats by simply wearing high socks. The former bodybuilder gave his insights through a latest Instagram post, where he said, “If I wear High socks, when I come to the squat bar and look into the mirror, I feel shorter.” Then the bodybuilder confessed that he was well aware that he wasn’t short yet. He liked to believe that with high socks, in his mind he could feel the distance to cover while squatting was lesser, so he continued following this method.

He stated how he liked to believe in a false illusion of judgment to get his workout done rather smoothly. Platz said, “I’m doing things that trick my mind.” Then he further added to his statement, “I allow myself to believe that and I perform better. I live in Unreality. Living in reality often limits me.”

Platz often uses his social media to give out fitness tips to those on their fitness journeys. Earlier, he had talked about how bodybuilders should be pursuing their passion.

He stated, “We want to address feelings and statements that scare to death you have to face them head on, go well here I go either die or succeed.”
