In a previous ?Ask Anything? chat on YouTube; Coleman was getting a lot of fan questions about his career and life and even on 4-time Olympia Classic Physique winner Chris Bumstead. Most fan questions were related to who he thought Mr. Olympia 2023 would be. Some of them were unique. One of those unique questions was by manuts_10 who asked, ?What was your biggest rival for you??
The bodybuilder who suffered through medical ailments, and huge challenges as a bodybuilder gave a profound answer. He said, ?My biggest rival for me was me. Because I was responsible for getting me, in conditions and I know for a fact that I can control myself, and as far as anybody else, I had no control whatsoever. So, my biggest rival for me was me.?
Coleman seems to be very clear about his imperfections and flaws. He is in tune with himself and knows that he cannot control any outside influence or person. This answer might help a lot of young bodybuilders get into the healthy mindset of being one?s own best version rather than competing with a third person. However, there was a famous rivalry with Jay Cutler that Coleman acknowledges but they have an amazing camaraderie.

Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman revamped the meaning of rival
Jay Cutler, who had been coming only second to Coleman for years, turned the tides and clenched the trophy from the King. The Comeback Kid ended the dream of Coleman, who wanted a 9th, Olympia. This made them rivals, but they also had mutual respect.
The 4-time Olympia revealed that he was sad that The King could not continue his winning streak. Showing his team spirit, the CEO of Cutler Nutrition said, ?I didn?t beat the best Ronnie Coleman ever? I was just better that day.? This shows the admiration he has for Coleman and his humility.
