In these few years, social media has become a huge part of our daily lives and dictates our minds. The Internet can be a great tool in the hands of the right people and a negative tool in the hands of the wrong. It has blurred the lines between private and public and allows people to have a certain disregard for people’s privacy. Even the bodybuilding world is not immune from this trend and the gym culture is getting affected because of this. Influencers, like Joey Swoll, are trying their best to eradicate toxicity from gyms.

The CEO of Gym Positivity is also trying to spread a positive message about mental health and loving oneself no matter what people say. He always gives examples of other people, but this time he decided to put himself as an example to show people that one can love oneself with their flaws and perfections.

In a recent tweet, Swoll did not reprimand anyone in the video for toxic gym behavior, but this time he tweeted something profound. The bodybuilder and fitness influencer, who is married to the love of his life and fellow fitness enthusiast Crystal Reneau, shared the tweet about depending on no one.

The tweet said, ?One of the greatest things life has taught me is how to be happy alone. I’m completely fine by myself. I depend on no one and it’s amazing.? He seemed pretty sure and direct about his ideas on life and loving oneself. Swoll has gone through his own share of dark times when he was addicted to opioids, and no one was there to help. He came out of that addiction by himself and through the help of his wife and mother. Joey also learned kindness first from his mother who helped anyone irrespective of their race.

After Swoll posted the tweet, a user by the name of Caroline B replied by saying that she could not live without her family and that maybe, ? males are different.? Swoll had a very profound answer for her reply, and he wrote back about being enough for oneself, even after having loved ones surrounding you. He wrote, ?That?s amazing and I?m happy for you. I don?t mean I don?t love or enjoy my family and friends, I do very much. I?m simply saying I?m ?enough? for myself. I don?t ?need? or depend on anyone to be happy. I go to the movies alone, dinner, and vacations, and I?m fine. If I spend time with someone it?s because I choose to, not because I need to, and in my experience that makes the relationship healthier and more valuable.?
