Seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger returned to acting with a bang with FUBAR. Shortly after releasing on Netflix, the show captured the No. 1 spot on the USA Netflix chart. Schwarzenegger continues to make media appearances as his docu-series is releasing on June 7. In an interview with CBS News correspondent Tracy Smith, Schwarzenegger opened up about his emotional side. The bodybuilding icon disclosed he never tried to hide it.
A snippet from the Schwarzenegger interview was uploaded on an official Instagram page. In the clip, Smith posed a question to the Austrian Oak, inquiring whether he experiences moments of sentimentality or sheds tears.

The official CBS Sunday Morning Instagram page uploaded a clip, in which Smith asked the Austrian Oak if he gets “mushy” or cries. The 75-year-old actor confessed that only certain things make him cry. He also explained why he doesn’t feel the need to maintain the facade of the macho man because he is Arnold Schwarzenegger. “I would say yes, but I’d say mostly when I watch a film,” Arnie responded to Smith’s question about what makes him cry. The CBS reporter asked what kind of films make Schwarzenegger emotional. However, the former Mr. Universe didn’t have a clear answer. “I cannot remember. I remember ‘ET’ definitely,” he said.
Track Smith followed up, saying if the Hollywood action hero feels he has to hide his tears because of his tough guy image. “No, no,” said Schwarzenegger, and followed up with his quirky sense of humor. “Look when you’re as ballsy as I am and as much of a man as I am, I don’t have to hide any of the feminine sides,” he added.

The 80s action icon explained he doesn’t hide that he likes washing dishes or his love of painting. “I don’t hide that I have tears in my eyes when I see a sad scene or any of this kind of things,” Arnie said during the CBS Sunday Morning interview. According to the 75-year-old, it doesn’t make anyone less may when they express their emotions.

Even during his prime, the Austrian Oak didn’t shy away from talking about his emotions. While the 75-old could’ve glossed over his true feeling in Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, he chose not to. Instead, the seven-time Mr. Olympia revealed he cried all night after losing his first bodybuilding show in America.
Frank Zane defeated the then-young Austrian at the 1968 Mr. Universe contest. Schwarzenegger revealed he was inconsolable that night, and decades later, when The Last Action Hero bonded at the box office, he cried too. Hence, it’s safe to say Schwarzenegger believes in mental health rather than proving he is a tough guy.
