The entire bodybuilding community feels sadness for Hadi Choopan, for ending up in second place at Mr. Olympia 2023. Many couldn’t comprehend that he didn’t clinch the victory this year. Former bodybuilders and coaches such as Samir Bannout and Chris Aceto showed their sympathy for him, despite his abrupt storming off from the stage, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone, including the new champion, Derek Lunsford.

The Persian Wolf was a formidable contender, and his fans had high hopes for him. Even experts believed that he would win again. Nonetheless, his performance had been remarkable, and it was widely expected that he might remain in the winning spot. The Olympia proved that it is an unpredictable game after all.

Samir Bannout empathized with Hadi Choopan

After the event concluded, RXMuscle-The Truth in Bodybuilding, shared a video on their Youtube channel with the title, “HEATED WRAPUP! DID DEREK DESERVE WIN?” Despite many people not supporting his though many not supporting his Hadi’s decision to leave the stage abruptly, he still garnered sympathy from former bodybuilding experts.

These experts didn’t just make predictions about winners. The former coach of Jay Cutler, Chris Aceto, and the host, Dave Palumbo, had also mentioned that if Choopan didn’t secure first place, he would walk off the stage. Surprisingly, this is precisely what happened during finals. In this recording, Palumbo mentioned, “Now we don’t like so losers “ and turned the mic toward the 1983 Mr. Olympia Samir Bannout.

The Lebanese bodybuilder said he never walked off the stage but defended Choopan. “I mean when you pissed you know you could do things you could be irrational a little bit you know but I don’t blame him because honestly, I felt really bad for him because I really thought he would win,” said the 67-year-old bodybuilder. Even though Samson Dauda’s coach Milos Sarcev also paid his empathy toward Choopan.

Even Milos Sarcev came to defend Choopan

The IFBB coach said Chhopan went off the stage because he had a hearing problem. The answer given by Sarcev didn’t convince people, “Well, listen I mean he has a hearing problem, maybe he just wanted to get…” said Sarcev. The question occurred, if that’s the case why would he take off his medal and leave the stage?
