“I Did Not Beat Him”: Arnold Schwarzenegger Responds After Jason Momoa Publicly Confessed Losing ‘State Farm Agent’ Role to Him

Bodybuilding champion and Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is again snatching the headlines with the release of the new teaser for Agent State Farm. The ‘movie’ will premiere as a 60-second Super Bowl spot just before the second quarter on February 11. This will be Schwarzenegger’s second appearance on advertising’s biggest stage.

Appearing on the Jimmy Falon show Arnie confirmed that he beat out 44-year-old Aquaman star Jason Momoa for the coveted role. Arnie also praised Momoa as an actor and expressed his desire to share the screen with him someday.

Arnold Schwarzenegger calls Momoa “the greatest action star today”

When Jimmy Fallon asked Arnold Schwarzenegger how he felt about getting the role, he also showed him a TikTok post by the Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa who had his sights set on bagging the Agent State Farm role.

In the video, Momoa congratulated the legend and said, “I can’t believe it! Congratulations Arnold, you beat me. I thought I was gonna get that role. My agent called me today and told me you got it. So congratulations on Agent State Farm and I’m sure the movie is gonna be amazing. The trailer I just saw. Agent State Farm is epic. Brother, it would be an honor to come to the premiere someday because we have never met.”

Arnie, after hearing Mamoa, said, “In all fairness, I did not beat him out. The way I feel about it is I wanted him to be a part of this great action movie because he is the greatest action star today out there.”

Schwarzenegger further added “He’s such a wonderful actor, so easy to work with, he has such a great reputation. I’ve never met him, but I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

While Schwarzenegger and Momoa haven’t met, they’re connected intimately through an iconic Hollywood role. Jason Momoa had his breakout role as the titular character in the Conan the Barbarian movie in 2011. ‘The Austrian Oak’ also starred in the early iteration of the movie in 1982 and similarly rose to fame.

Talking about Agent State Farm, the iconic Terminator star said, “Just like traditional Schwarzenegger action movies, [it has] explosions, action, fight scenes, blow-ups, special effects, great entertainment.” To clarify Agent State Farm is not a movie, but a commercial campaign for state farm insurance. This will be Arnie’s second appearance on the coveted Super Bowl advertisement spot.

Schwarzenegger starred with Salma Hayek for 2022 commercial

Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared as Zeus in BMW’s 2022 commercial, which also starred Selma Hayek as Hera, and finished seventh in the Ad Meter ratings. The ad was for BMW’s all-electric vehicle, the BMW iX.

In the minute-long video, Zeus is navigating life during his transition from Mount Olympus to Palm Springs. He shows his frustration with using a microwave and people asking him to charge up their appliances before Hera introduces him to an electric vehicle. The commercial ends with both actors singing the 1982 hit “Electric Avenue” by Eddy Grant.
