Hollywood Actress and first-ever African American ‘Cinderella’, Keke Palmer is opening up about the struggles of postpartum body and breaking notions of unrealistic body standards in the film industry.

The Emmy Award winner announced the birth of her first child earlier this year, and now she is speaking up about the crazy expectations from mothers. In a conversation with her trainer Corey Calliet, during the ‘Baby, This Is Keke Palmer’ podcast, she spoke up about the complex training to stay in shape and encouraged people to reject unrealistic body standards for women.

As per Popsugar, during the podcast, she spoke up about the ?snap back? culture of the entertainment industry where women are expected to gain their toned physiques after giving birth. Keke was very direct about the whole ordeal and admitted that it was part of her job to get toned as soon as possible because her career was on the line.?

Celebrities have to deal with specific standards of beauty and fitness, which sets impractical ideas for the viewers. Palmer stressed the fact that celebrities, including herself, have special facilities and privileges that allow them to get in shape in no time. “It’s my job. Let’s not get crazy ? I don’t want people thinking that I am setting unrealistic standards,” she said. Plamer further emphasized, “I can afford a trainer, meal prep, and a lot of things. And, it’s expensive, but I am investing in my career.”

She even spoke to ‘People’ magazine on YouTube, where Palmer shared her idea on what new mothers should do. She advised new moms to do whatever that made them feel good. Coming back to her podcast, Keke made it clear that every mother?s wellness journey is unique and the healing time is different. “Your body changes; your mindset changes; so many things change about you after having a kid. But you, at the same time, want to still be your best and want to know that you’re doing something for yourself,? she admitted. Even bodybuilders like Danni Levy divulged the biased standard of beauty in her Instagram.

According to Levy, who is editor-in-chief of ‘Muscle and Health’, magazine, the whole concept of a summer body is fake. While posting her jacked physique on Instagram, she included a caption, ?If you?re ?getting in shape (just) for summer? you?ve already lost @violatethedresscode keeping my summer body dressed all year round ??#summerbody #summerbodygoals #gymgoals #fitnessmotivation?. This caption proved her mindset about unrealistic standards.?

Similarly, Keke Palmer realized that she represents an ideal standard for the masses like Levy and talked about her responsibility. “And that’s big for me because I know that a lot of people look at me and I represent a lot of people in different ways, so I always want to make it clear ? especially when I’m talking about fitness, health, and wellness ? that, ‘Your journey is your journey. You figure it out the way you can,? said the actress.
