The year 2023 has not been a great year for the fitness and bodybuilding community. As we have mourned the loss of many athletes and influencers in recent times, another tragedy that the world of bodybuilding is currently witnessing is the passing away of IFBB Pro Luis Manuel Lomeli. The Mexican bodybuilding veteran was shot dead recently while he was on his way to the gym. 

Lomeli inspired and motivated countless individuals to take up fitness and bodybuilding. Despite his retirement from the sport, he trained many clients and helped them achieve their fitness goals. As the Mexican passed away, Serbian bodybuilding sensation Milos Sarcev recently posted a video with him on his Instagram. 

Milos Sarcev posts his condolences for Luis Manuel Lomeli 

IFBB Pro Milos Sarcev has won countless titles in his life. Since his retirement from the sport, he has become a bodybuilding coach and trained many athletes, and Manuel Lomeli was once his student. Sarcev was shaken to the core after hearing about his death. The Mexican bodybuilder was brutally attacked and shot dead. Milos Sarcev posted a video of the two to pay tribute to El Charro. 

Sarcev wrote in the caption, “Manuel CHARRO Lomeli was tragically killed yesterday in Mexico. I am still in shock after hearing the news. I wanted to find a footage with him – and I found couple on my YouTube channel. Here, in memory of him – I am sharing with you absolutely crazy giant set for chest.” 

Continuing further, he wrote, “Chest is a muscle that fatigues very quickly and for Charro to keep pushing through it – shows his never-quitting character. RIP Charro.” But how did Lomeli die? Let’s take a look.

Luis Manuel Lomeli’s unfortunate death

In a tragic turn of events, open-class bodybuilding legend Luis Manuel Lomeli was recently shot dead in Mexico during an armed attack by two individuals. He was fatally attacked while driving his truck on Juan Alonso de Torres Boulevard, in close proximity to the San Jerónimo neighborhood.

The bodybuilder was on his way to the gym after having his dinner at Rincón Gaucho, located in Plaza Mayor, León. While en route, an approaching vehicle suddenly opened fire, abruptly ending his life. But this was not the first attack on the Mexican bodybuilder.

Earlier this year, El Charro was involved in a similar incident where he missed a gunshot that grazed his arm.
