Ever thought of comparing your deadlift to a gorilla? In a recent podcast on the YouTube channel Mind Pump Show, the host Sal Di Stefano asked a similar question to his fellow hosts and asked them to guess the answer. The answer to his question surprised everyone.

Di Stefano replied that gorillas can deadlift up to 1800 pounds, which is almost 750 pounds more than the world’s strongest man. The current strongest man, Mitchell Hopper, can deadlift 1047 pounds. However, the heaviest deadlift record is held by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who can deadlift 1104.5 pounds but still can’t beat the silverback gorilla’s record. Gorillas can easily defeat both record holders without any hassle.

Silverback gorillas are a species of gorilla known for their immense strength, surpassing humans in various tests of power. Gorillas not only excel in deadlifting more weight than humans but also outmatch humans in other lifting exercises. For instance, gorillas can squat up to 1897 pounds, while the strongest man, Mitchell Hooper, can squat 816 pounds in comparison to a silverback gorilla. However, it’s important to note that these figures are estimates based on their observed strength during similar activities.
