At first, the bodybuilding legend had to take English classes out of necessity. However, he also enrolled for a formal degree, and despite his incredibly busy schedule, the Austrian Oak earned it. Instestringly, the 76-year-old has more than one university degree.
The world might know Arnold Schwarzenegger for his bodybuilding career, iconic action films like The Terminator, Predator, and True Lies, and service as the Governor of California. However, the Austrian Oak earned not one but multiple university degrees after moving to the States. Here’s how he did it.
Arnold Schwarzenegger needed to learn English

After landing in America, the bodybuilder realized he barely had any command of English. While the Austrian Oak understood the language, he could barely speak it. Arnie understood if he wanted a shot at Hollywood glory, he would have to master the language. The bodybuilder enrolled in Santa Monica College in California.
“I started by taking English as a Second Language,” Schwarzenegger said during a commencement speech at the college in 2005. Santa Monica College would also inspire him to expand his academic horizons and learn about new subjects. “A counselor convinced me to take math and business classes,” the 76-year-old wrote in a 2019 tweet. Arnie would then enroll at the University of Wisconsin.

The bodybuilding juggled bodybuilding, acting, and academics
The seven-time Mr. Olympia enrolled as a distance student at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in the late 1970s. The bodybuilding had to join as a distance student as he established himself as a famous bodybuilder with seven Mr. Olympia and five Mr. Universe titles under his belt. The Austrian was also making progress with his film career. In 1976, Arnie even won a Golden Globe Award. However, despite his busy schedule, Arneie pursued a B.A. in Business and International Economics diligently.

While Schwarzenegger didn’t attend classes, he didn’t skip on his studies. In fact, his reival0turned-friend Frank Zane, who was also a mathematics teacher, helped Arnie. However, Schwarzenegger flew to the university to meet professors and appear for exams. In 1979, the former Governor of California earned his degree. The University of Wisconsin-Superior also awarded Arlod Schwarzenegger with an honorary Doctorate.

Chapman University awarded the 76-year-old an honorary Doctorate in 2002. Besides these degrees, the FUBAR actor earned another honorary degree from the now-defunct Trump University. While Arnold Schwarzenegger only needed to learn English to “make it in America,” he pursued excellence in education, just like he did in three distinct careers.
