Named the ‘World’s Best-Built Man of the Century,’ bodybuilding legend Bill Pearl was one of the most influential figures in the realm of fitness and bodybuilding. As he remains highly respected in the hearts of the lifting community, he sadly passed away a year ago today. Battling against several injuries as well as Parkinson’s disease, he took off from this world at the age of 91 years old.

As it was his death anniversary recently, his wife, Judy Pearl, shared a long, heartfelt message paying tribute to his husband on Facebook. After coming across the post, the lifting community joined hands and mourned the loss of a true legend.

Pearl started his fitness journey in his teenage years after coming across a bodybuilding magazine featuring the likes of Steve Reeves and John Grimek. Embarking on his pursuit to become a bodybuilder, Pearl won four Mr. Universe Pro titles in his career. After living a full life, Pearl died on September 14, 2022, in Phoenix, United States. As part of his death anniversary, his wife, Judy Pearl, took it to Facebook and wrote a heartfelt message for Bill. The post also included a few pictures of Bill, along with his short biography.

“It’s difficult to realize Bill has been gone for a year today. I still miss him terribly each and every day. He was so present in my life for the last 57 year, and we did so much together, so as you can imagine, even as there is a great void in my life, I still feel his presence,” Judy wrote in the post.

Coming across the emotional social media post, many from the lifting community expressed their grief over the matter and commented about the same.

Fans pay homage to Bill Pearl

One of the users wrote in the comments, “I hope he’s resting in peace with the knowledge of how much of an inspiration he was to those of us in the Bodybuilding world,” while another comment from a fan read, “What a wonderful fulfilling life he had. I’m so glad you honor us with his story and successes. I can feel your love for him. I pray God comforts your heart as you miss him so much.”

One of Bill’s gym buddies also expressed his views on this. He wrote, “Thank you for sharing, I’ll never forget all the moments we had in the gym. All the things I learned. All the friendships lasting a lifetime.” Another fan who had the honor of meeting Pearl wrote, “His autograph is one of my treasures,” while another fan confessed, “Mr Pearl and Rick Wayne were my earliest inspirations! Thank you Judy!”
