Former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall has announced an unexpected collaboration. While the former competitive strongman has delved into combat sports, he is venturing into slap fighting, but not as a competitor. The bodybuilding enthusiast was “thrilled to announce that I’ll be hosting the very first @SlapFightingChampionship event held in the UAE,“ earlier.
“It’s not just a fight; it’s a showcase of sheer will and power,“ the former WSM winner wrote. While Eddie Hall has always been a competitor in every sport he has associated himself with, it’s different this time. Instead of competing, the strength athlete will host and commentate on the action. “I’ll be dropping exclusive sneak peeks straight from Dubai,“ said Hall.
The official announcement on the Slap Fighting Championship page stated that the competition Eddie Hall is set to host will set a new benchmark. “This isn’t just any event—it’s the dawn of a new era in combat sports in the Middle East, and you’re invited to witness history in the making!“ read the statement. They also announced the venue.

Slap Fighting Championship announced that the contest will take place at The Space in Dubai. They also announced that Eddie Hall’s charisma will only add to the event’s prestige and success. However, most fans of the former World’s Strongest Man didn’t agree with Hall or the SFC. In fact, most comments didn’t approve of the entire event.
While slap fighting has become quite popular, it’s not mainstream. In fact, many combat and strength sports fans believe slap fighting is inherently more dangerous than other combat sports. Since slap fighters can’t protect their heads from concussive bows, many believe it may lead to dire consequences in the future. However, this isn’t the first time Edie Hall has associated himself with something controversial.
Eddie Hall and the Finishers Championship controversy
Earlier this year, Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw, Mitchell Hooper, and Martyn Ford were supposed to participate in an MMA tournament. The Finisher’s Championship contacted the strength athletes to add a wow factor to their MMA tournament. Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw, and Martyn Ford trained for the four-way tournament for months. However, things went south at the last moment.

Days before the fight, the four participants announced that The Finisher’s Champions Committee had cut contact. They later escaped the four-way tournament entirely. Although Mitchell Hooper had suspected foul play and said he didn’t train, the other did. All four athletes and their fans were furious about the last-minute cancelation without an explanation.
It looks unlikely that the SFC would do something similar with Eddie Hall. However, Eddie Hall associating himself with slap fighting hasn’t gone down too well with fans.
