Death is an inevitable foe no one can escape from, and in bodybuilding, death is a common part of the community. Notably, often the blame for death goes to substances used to amp up muscle development. One among them is st****ds. But its use is not the only cause of death in the bodybuilding world, as pointed out by a bodybuilding underdog. According to him, there are many other reasons for death in this realm.

Recently, Dave Palumbo was invited to a podcast on the YouTube channel “Overcome,” where he gave his valuable insights on the reasons behind the leading cause of death in the bodybuilding community.

In the podcast, Palumbo was asked about the increasing death rates in the bodybuilding community. He expressed his thoughts and talked about various reasons for death, except st****ds. He started with people dying from kidney issues because they neglect their blood pressure, and high blood pressure destroys kidneys. Pal also highlighted that some people have predispositions to heart issues that could be exacerbated by a bodybuilding lifestyle.

Palumbo somewhat blamed the COVID-19 pandemic for increasing the number of heart attack deaths in recent years. He also talked about genetic diseases and cancer as reasons for death. Palumbo emphasized that we make a big deal out of it, thinking bodybuilders are the healthiest men alive, which is not true. There can be numerous reasons behind this that no one could have known. But they only blame the d**g use for the death. He said,” He would have dropped dead anyway.”

He believes he cannot attribute any one specific reason for the increasing deaths after opening up about all the other factors. Furthermore, Palumbo explained the importance of having your blood tested regularly and how issues like these causing deaths can be stopped.

He shared that he caught his thyroid because it showed up on his CT scan. He also had a colonoscopy to check that everything was fine with him. Palumbo said,” You know we have; we’re living in the most technological time in this world. They can test almost everything pretty soon. They’re going to do a blood test. They’ll tell you if you have cancer in your body.” Palumbo’s insights gave a much deeper look to the picture. Putting them to use might alleviate unfortunate outcomes that plague the bodybuilding world.
