Despite his own remarkable achievements, the Canadian veteran recently made a surprising admission. Labrada candidly confessed to feeling intimidated by another industry legend throughout his illustrious career. The veteran bodybuilder consistently competed below the weight of 200 lbs and defied the odds by proving that size isn’t everything. However, he recently made headlines as he revealed his biggest competitor. 

Lee Haney made Lee Labrada nervous 

The veteran bodybuilder made this surprising confession during an interview on his popular YouTube channel. In a recent podcast with popular fitness icon Fouad Abiad, Labrada revealed that he was always considered one of the smaller guys in the competition. “Anytime I would look at the guy that was bigger than me and that was literally every time”. However, never allowed his size to affect his confidence. 

The 66-year-old said that he was always mentally prepared to take on anyone who stood in his way. He said, ”But every time I saw a guy bigger than me you know, I would just say, I’m gonna beat him”. However, there was one competitor who managed to shake his confidence due to his incredibly shredded muscular frame, and that was none other than the legendary Lee Haney.

The bodybuilder from Cuba said that Haney possessed a level of conditioning and muscle separation that left his fellow competitors in awe. “I will tell you, the only one that I ever had a doubt about was Lee Haney”. Haney’s extraordinary physique used to set him apart from the rest, and it was this remarkable display of muscularity that had Labrada doubting himself. “It’s because he was so far ahead of the pack”, Labrada added.

Even fellow bodybuilders couldn’t resist expressing their appreciation for Haney’s remarkable physique. Milos Sarcev, a star bodybuilder in his own right, left a comment in awe, stating, “TOTALEE AWESOME.” Overall, while the 8x Mr. Olympia may have retired from competitive sports a long time ago, his legacy will remain intact forever.
