The Terminator recently appeared in an interview with CNN. Schwarzenegger revealed that the point of contention revolved around the delivery of the now-iconic line from the movie, “I’ll be back.”. During the production of The Terminator, Schwarzenegger was mindful of his character’s robotic nature and proposed that the line could be altered to “I will be back” to create a more mechanical and emotionless delivery.
However, the director was fiercely protective of his script and staunchly defended his original wording and delivery of the line. But, Schwarzenegger tried to convince Cameron that his proposed version would better emphasize the Terminator’s robotic persona.
Eventually, the tension reached its peak when Cameron snapped at Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger recalled that Cameron told him, “Do you want to rewrite my script? If I don’t tell you how to act, you don’t me how to write” The director’s tough words marked a breaking point in their argument. However, things turned out in the favor.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was proven wrong
