Bodybuilding and fitness influencer Chuck ‘Kali Muscle’ Kirkendall is a heart attack survivor. Kirkendall had a massive heart attack in 2021 after years of st***id use and a bad diet. After surviving the ordeal, the millionaire influencer started his long road to recovery. Hence, Kali Muscle felt joy when four-time Armold Classic winner Flex Wheeler posted his latest update.

The 90s bodybuilding legend who fans widely consider as an uncrowned Mr. Olympia, recently underwent back surgery. The surgery is the latest in a long line of invasive operations after Wheeler’s focal segmental glomerulosclerosis diagnosis. While the bodybuilding icon is suffering further complications as he recovers, Flex Wheeler seemed in good spirits on Christmas.

“So great to see you smiling and in good spirits,” Kirkendall commented on Flex Wheeler’s Instagram post. The influencer has experienced what it takes to come back from major surgeries. Unfortunately for Wheeler, returning to a hundred percent is out of the question. Ronnie Coleman’s rival has undergone countless surgeries for over two decades.

Wheeler’s health troubles started in the late 90s when he had to step away from bodybuilding for a kidney transplant. Despite finding some success when attempting to return, further issues ended the Sultan of Symmetry’s bodybuilding career. The 58-year-old’s kidney disease is incurable, and the health issues it has caused have left the once proud bodybuilder a shadow of his former self.

However, the bodybuilding icon felt thankful for everything he had on Christmas. Despite facing challenges, Wheeler said, “May we be filled with the spirit of hope and encouragement.” He wished happiness and prosperity for everyone. Wheeler hoped everyone’s Christmas would be “warmth, peace, and an abundance of love.” While the surgery took a physical toll, it couldn’t dampen his Christmas spirit. However, things don’t look bright for the bodybuilding champion’s health.

Flex Wheeler didn’t have good things to say after the surgery

In October 2019, the Mr. Olympia runner-up lost his right leg below the knee due to complications arising from kidney and circulation issues. His back surgery is yet another major surgery that’s having unwanted side effects. “The outcome has been nothing short of devastating, leaving me disheartened and disillusioned,” said the bodybuilder.

Besides the physical and mental distress, Flex Wheeler’s surgery was also a hefty financial investment. What’s worse is that the bodybuilding icon feels the physical, emotional, and financial expenditure was all in vain. While Wheeler seemed in good spirits for Christmas, and fans, including Kali Muscle, wished him well, only time will reveal the long-term effects of the surgery.
