Larry Wheels is a name that is synonymous to power and resilience in the world of powerlifting and bodybuilding. However, the roads has been a bit on the topsy turvy side these days for him. The record-holding powerlifter got diagnosed with Rhabdomyolysis (which breaks down muscle tissue) causing him to go through hell.
Having very little hopes of getting back to the gym or even completely recovering from it, he got back to his lifestyle of passion, but everything comes at a cost, and for Wheels it was difficulty to completely mobilize himself at the gym. There still has been significant amount of struggle for him to completely get back at it.

The Bodybuilder and powerlifter recently took to his official Instagram account and shared a video of himself working out in the gym a few hours ago on his story. He wrote, “Not being able to bring arms in makes it hard to get a good contraction.”
In the video, Wheels was seen pulling out a 10-rep set on the shoulder press machine with heavy weights. However, the struggle was pretty much evident on his face. Although he managed to complete it, engaging his muscles entirely was a rather difficult job as he could not completely engage his arms in the workout after his recovery.

Larry Wheels had been loading up on PEDs until last year in order to hit his records. However, the cost he paid for it was quite evident and has come to realization now. If only, the powerlifter would have gotten to terms with it earlier. Even in one of his previous videos, he shared the plethora of side effects he suffered from a particular PED.
The bodybuilder admitted to using Tren
In one of his YouTube videos earlier, Larry Wheels confessed to taking Trenbolone acetate (Tren), which made him struggle with several problems like acne, mood swings, and irritability. The arm wrestler admitted to “waking up in a f**king in the middle of the night cause you just had a horrible nightmare.”

However, the strength boost he got from using performance-enhancing drugs made it seem worth the suffering. He stated, “Yeah, you look in the mirror, and you hit a PR and like aah. It?s kinda worth it though.” However, the aspiring Classic Physique athlete has dialed down on the steroids and is focusing on longevity. While the Rhabdo diagnosis makes things difficult going forward, Wheels is not one to give up on a goal.
