In his latest newsletter, Schwarzenegger unveils an interesting approach that can significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Rather than presenting complex measures, his advice centers on a single key aspect of increasing the intensity of workouts. In the newsletter, he cited a study conducted over 88,000 adults.

Schwarzenegger revealed that individuals who engaged in higher-intensity exercise experienced a more significant reduction in cardiovascular diseases. “All activity was linked with more heart protection, but when people shifted from lower-intensity exercise to moderate-to-vigorous intensity, they saw about a 14 percent improvement in risk reduction”, he wrote.

Schwarzenegger urged people to find activities that resonate with their interests and preferences. He emphasized that by selecting activities that bring joy and satisfaction, individuals are more likely to stick with their exercise routine, leading to sustained cardiovascular benefits. Furthermore, he addressed a common confusion surrounding the difference between moderate and intense exercises. “If you want an idea of what moderate-to-vigorous intensity looks like, the researchers suggested that it’s the equivalent of doing a 7-minute run instead of a 14-minute stroll,” he wrote in the newsletter. However, the Terminator often shares his valuable pieces of advice on other aspects as well.

Schwarzenegger’s advice on sleep

In one of the previous editions of his newsletter, Arnold highlighted the importance of adequate sleep. The Austrian Oak emphasized that sleep is one of the major contributors to a person’s overall health. He wrote, “Adding 1 hour of sleep to your day can help support healthier eating habits, reduce hunger, and limit the likelihood that you crave foods that are higher in fat and sugar.”

He also highlighted the fact that people with less amount of sleep tend to eat less food. Schwarzenegger asserts that a study proved that a person who usually slept for 6.5 hours at night consumed lesser calories during the day when his sleeping hours were increased to 7.5. The counted difference in consumption was 270 calories. Arnie added, “ Focus on getting one more hour — or making sure you don’t sleep less than 7.5 hours — to experience the benefits.”
