Arnold Schwarzenegger has done multiple interviews before and since the launch of FUBAR on Netflix on May 25. With his Netflix docu-series, Arnold, releasing on June 7, Arnie hasn’t slowed down on promotions. However, his recent interview might be the most unique one, so far, because the interviewer was none other than Danny DeVito. Schwarzenegger’s good friend interviewed the Austrian Oak on behalf of Interview Magazine. While their conversation was about the 75-year-old’s upbringing, they also talked about other things.
One of the questions Arnie’s Twins co-star asked was about his hobbies. DeVito wanted to know if Schwarzenegger had a hobby other than bodybuilding and weightlifting. The seven-time Mr. Olympia revealed he has the same hobby as his rival-turned-friend Sylvester Stallone but doesn’t have the “guts” to match him.

At the beginning of the interview, Danny DeVito said he didn’t want to talk about films. Instead, he wanted to know more about the Austrian’s childhood. “Did you have hobbies? Were you into painting, art, drawing, sculpture?” the 78-year-old asked the Governator. The FUBAR star replied besides sports, he also liked to paint.
However, during his childhood, painting was more part of his education than a hobby. “Twice a week we had painting, drawing, and geometry. That was part of our education,” said Arnie. However, at 75, for Schwarzenegger, painting has become solely a hobby. “I still paint Christmas cards, Mother’s Day cards, birthday cards for the kids,” revealed Schwarzenegger.
DeVito then asked Schwarzenegger if he makes giant paintings. The Austrian replied that he might get ambitious sometimes but doesn’t go crazy like Stallone. While the bodybuilding legend is confident in everything he tries, Stallone “has the ba**s to go really, really big,” Arnie told Danny DeVito. The bodybuilding legend said he was “afraid” to try the six or seven-foot paintings Stallone makes.
Arnie added, “he just smashes on the paint. He has the guts. I’m somewhat afraid of going in that direction. I’m not good enough.” Arnold Schwarzenegger said he paints to have a good time and doesn’t plan to compete with the Rocky star. However, in the 80s, the two superstars would compete at the most trivial things.
Nothing was off the table for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger started off on the wrong foot from day one. The stars first collided at the 1977 Golden Globe Awards and got into an altercation. So they waged war at the box office. The Austrian Oak and the Rambo star locked horns to assert box office dominance for over a decade.
At one point, their feud became so heated the two would taunt one another whenever they crossed paths. During one such incident, the pair compared who had killed more bad guys on the screen in their then-latest release. However, with age, their rivalry cooled down, and now the two are good friends. In fact, they often visit one another to share stories of the good old days. However, it seems Stallone is the better painter.
