Dorian Yates recently shared an old photograph of himself posing in the living room of his house in 1993. Revealing the burden of having huge legs, he talked about a certain incident that plagued him back then, I had to apply plaster tape to my inner thighs as can be seen in the pic. The reason is that when I’d take my dog for a walk in the mornings as my cardio, my skin on both thighs would rub together causing a lot of irritation…”

He then went on to reminisce about the good memories he had associated with the picture. 1993 was one of the best years in his bodybuilding career. He wrote, “I didn’t have to battle any serious injuries, training was incredible, I was happy with my new three-bedroom home, Temple Gym was thriving as a business and a gym community too.” Having won the Olympia crown in 1991, he was now aiming to dominate the stage of Mr. Olympia. But why was that year so important for Yates?

Dorian Yates went on to share how his only goal then was to make a statement on the 1993 Olympia stage. So in 1993, they wanted to bring back the title to the home soil.
