The?bodybuilding world has seen a lot of rivalries on the stage of Mr. Olympia. The best rivalry in the Golden Era was regarded to be between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Frank Zane and after that came, Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman. From the former Olympias, Jay Cutler and Phil Heath, to new bodybuilders like Chris Bumstead, Derek Lunsford, and Hadi Choopan everyone is posing iconic rivalries in the bodybuilding world. One thing common about all of them is their coach who has gained success in the bodybuilding world.

Hany Rambod is a former bodybuilder, who was inclined to coach and astounded the whole world, with his remarkable capability to transform athletes into champions. He is the best trainer and coach whom everyone goes to if they want to win. The sports community even gave him a nickname by calling him Pro Creator. He recently predicted why Derek, Lunsford, and Hadi Choopan have the same dynamic as Phil Heath and Jay Cutler.

Phil Heath and Jay Cutler Era

Phil Heath and Jay Cutler had a 10-year friendship, as well as rivalry, and both?achieved Mr. Olympia in their merit. Not until the third year in the pro league that he had a quiet enough mass that Phil Heath finally made his Olympia debut. He was weighting to 270 pounds and Cutler was 260 but the gap was much closer because of the superior muscular conditioning of the Gift. However, at that time, none of them won, and the trophy was taken by Dexter Jackson. However, this was just the beginning of a long rivalry between the two amazing bodybuilders.

Heath and Cutler even trained together in the gym inside the FLEX. Finally, in 2010 Mr. Olympia showdown started and fans were already familiar with the rivalry by then and the audience was in an uproar. This show was pretty debatable because only three points separated? Cutler and Heath at the prejudging. Even in the weight class, only 15 pounds separated both of the bodybuilding champions. Heath was 245 pounds and Cutler was 260. However, Jay Cutler succeeded in winning his fourth Mr. Olympia title, but this decision started a huge debate that lasted one year. After 12 months Heath got Jay Cutler and became the 13th Mr. Olympia in dominating the stage. Something similar was also seen between the dynamic of Derek Lansford and Hadi Choopan.

Hany Rambod did a Q and A with Derek Lunsford recently on his YouTube channel. Rambod spoke about how he felt about the latest rivalry between Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan. He said, ?I feel like there?s also pressure for reoccurring so this year trying to bring in to see one for the fifth one was also very difficult but the pressure is much much more different and I feel like it?s more satisfying now than it was early on, and there?s always going to be some different key moments that I feel were big.??

When he spoke about the key moments, he compared Lunsford and Choopan to Heath and Cutler. He said, ?09 Jay Cutler was a huge win for me because no one had ever lost and won again and he had done that with an amazing look.” Rambod continued, ?Obviously Phil his first one was very very big as well and I feel that now with like a Hadi and Derek era kinda like the Janesville area where they were going back-and-forth.? Rambod also pointed out that even if you were happy for one athlete, you would be sad for another, because both of the athletes were up to the mark. Another difference he pointed out between the rivalry and the competition was that now it is more exposed and raw due to social media and the comments from fans.?

Hadi and Derek era

The 2023 Mr. Olympia open division, saw Derek Lunsford as the winner, and there was a controversial footage where Choopan had stormed off the stage. This created breech in the bodybuilding world and even Lunsford was asked about it in the press conference after the Competition.

However, he was very sporting and said that this was a natural emotion for any bodybuilder who prepared for the best for almost one year. He also said,???But look, this is not easy. We all pour our heart and soul into this.??The Peoples Choice award winner and 212 Olympia winner said, ?And I think like all the sacrifices that I make not just me like my wife is making with me and all the loved ones.? Even Choopan uploaded an Instagram post where he congratulated every single winner of Mr. Olympia, 2023, and encouraged all bodybuilders, who had one as well as lost.

So even if they are rivals on stage they both respect each other a lot and much like Heath and Cutler, are friends rather than rivals who have the same coach Hany Rambod.
