Former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has been on a mission to eliminate pollution for decades. Every year, Schwarzenegger brings together innovators and leaders who pledge to do their part to combat climate change at the World Climate Summit in Austria. This year, the Terminator star has come up with an idea to help everyone contribute to the cause.
Arnold Schwarzenegger uploaded an Instagram video where he spoke about the “theme of pumping up.” However, the seven-time Mr. Olympia didn’t mean pumping up your muscles. Instead, the bodybuilding icon wishes everyone to help pump up the environment to combat climate change. So Arnie came up with a task for everyone.
“Go and ride your bike to work, or walk for dinner, or for lunch or for a date, whatever you want to do. Ride your bike instead of using your car,” said the 76-year-old Terminator star. “This is the important thing because we want to reduce pollution… We all have to work together,” said the bodybuilding legend. The Green Governor also explained why he made the request.

The former governor said, “We cannot wait for the politicians,” because they have been promising to initiate change at a global level yet failed to make a meaningful impact to slow down climate change or promote green technology. Arnold Schwarzenegger urged everyone to help the world become cleaner through their actions because pollution takes lives.
The Austrian Oak has spoken about how pollution is taking millions of lives across the globe. So he wants everyone’s help to terminate pollution. Arnold Schwarzenegger also had an incentive to offer those who take action. “Share your sustainable habits using the ‘Add Yours’ feature in our stories, and you could win a signed copy of my new book Be Useful!” said Arnie. However, he didn’t mention another long-term benefit of the activity.

The task that the bodybuilding icon suggested would not only help people reduce their carbon footprint but also improve their health. Bike riding and walking are excellent low-impact activities to boost cardiovascular capacity. Unlike High-Intensity Interval Training, low-impact activities do not stress the joints and are much less taxing.

However, that also makes them easier to pick up and more sustainable. Bike riding and walking can also be scaled up in intensity to provide even better results. So, while Arnold Schwarzenegger wants people to ride or walk for the environment, he knows they’ll be also boosting their health and fitness through these activities.
