Dave Palumbo took to bodybuilding and debuted in the 1990 NPC national competition. Further, he went on to win the 1995 NPC Junior Nationals. He later became editor-in-chief for Muscle Development Magazine before turning to his YouTube career. Now the bodybuilder revealed an anecdote from his life in his latest YouTube video.

The 55-year-old bodybuilder is the founder of RxMuscle.com, where he brings elite bodybuilders to discuss the ongoing events in the sport. So, in his latest show, he revealed his thoughts while rushing to the hospital for heart surgery.

Dave Palumbo’s thoughts on death

Despite living a healthy lifestyle and being a fitness enthusiast, Dave Palumbo had to undergo heart surgeries to treat his blockages. However, the incident left a lasting impression on the bodybuilder.

The bodybuilder revealed his “biggest fear” when he “was going into the hospital to get” his “chest or heart surgery.” Depicting his experience he said, “I was going to wake up and I was going to be like wow! Everything is great, and then someone’s going to come up to me and say, by the way, you know you’re dead.

So, further explaining his true thoughts, he said, “I was afraid of that, I was like, oh, I’m gonna wake up, I’m gonna be f****ng dead, I won’t even know it.” He compared his situation with the passengers who died in The Titanic submarine implosion. However, Palumbo is known to be brave enough to fight deadly diseases like cancer.

The elite YouTuber once fought cancer

The ace bodybuilder was detected with papillary thyroid cancer a few years back. It was a 10mm cancerous nodule that was detected much early in its progress, and the bodybuilder assured that it wasn’t serious.

You hear the word cancer and you think death. It’s not a death diagnosis. What it is, is you’ve got something in your body, and you’ve got to address it,” he once revealed his approach toward the deadly condition. The bodybuilder led his fight against cancer calmly and positively and got his thyroid gland removed through an invasive procedure. Thus, he won the battle against cancer.
