Bodybuilding veteran and fitness influencer Chuck ‘Kali Muscle’ Kirkendall has become infamous in the recent past. Fellow influencers and fitness gurus often criticize Muscle for many of his diet advice videos. While the bodybuilder gives useful insights on certain harmful foods, sometimes, he also makes bizarre claims. His latest claim about sodium in water has riled up Marc Lobliner.

Marc Lobliner is an IFBB pro and fitness influencer who took issues with Kali Muscle’s claims. The 43-year-old played a clip where Muscle picked up a Crystal Geyser Alpine Spring Water bottle. In the clip, the heart attack survivor blamed Crystal Geyser and similar brands. He claimed drinking water with added minerals resulted in water retention and swelling. However, Lobliner definitely did not like the fact that the former enhanced bodybuilder advised people to avoid mineral water.

Is Kali Muscle causing more harm than good?

Marc Lobliner didn’t agree with anything the influencer said about mineral water. Muscle had earlier voiced concern about the 5 milligrams of sodium added to every 12 ounces of Crystal Geyser Alpine Spring Water. However, Lobliner explained that 5 mg sodium in water is nothing to be concerned about. In fact, it’s way lower than the amount you might want.

“These influencers are going to get someone seriously hurt,” said the IFBB Pro, who wanted to educate his followers. “Not getting enough electrolytes can be dangerous,” wrote the bodybuilding coach. Lobliner further explained that the human body needs 1.5 grams of sodium per day. Hence, he considered the amount of sodium in Crystal Geyser to actually be low.

According to Lobliner, not having enough electrolytes can lead to “several health issues, ranging from mild discomfort to severe and life-threatening conditions.” Hence, he said that no one should follow the advice Muscle gave about the sodium content in water. In fact, Lobliner claimed he adds a little more salt to the water, “especially” when he is eating “clean.”

On the other hand, Marc Lobliner isn’t the only one who has been critical of Kali Muscle. Another IFBB pro coach has always been on the ‘anti-Muscle’ bandwagon.

Greg Duccette has always been a vocal critic

Former Canadian IFBB Pro turned fitness influencer Greg Doucette has criticized Kali Muscle for decades. Even before the bodybuilder suffered from cardiac arrest, Doucette had proclaimed him as a fake natty. After surviving the heart attack, Kirkendall admitted to using st***ids.

After his brush with death, the 48-year-old changed his diet and approach to training. However, despite eating healthy, Kali Muscle took it to the extreme. The 48-year-old has done multiple week-long water and raw fruit fasts in recent months. Greg Doucette criticized the very first 7-day watermelon fast that Kirkendall undertook. However, it didn’t deter the 48-year-old as he moved on to a pineapple only fast.
