Marlene Flowers aka Granny Guns found her passion and is pursuing it in her sixties. After having surgery at 58, the old bodybuilding enthusiast decided to change her routine. She took up her weightlifting journey seriously and now the 67-year-old grandma is a star fitness influencer.
She was also a prospective candidate for Muscle and Fitness Hers Magazine cover. With 332K followers on Instagram, Granny Guns is promoting a lifestyle based on health and fitness. A recent post of Flowers gives out her mantra to become successful.

In a short reel posted on her official Instagram account, Flowers asked her fans to, “Go Out and Fail.” She suggested them not to fear defeat as “Failure is natural part of success.” According to the elderly fitness enthusiast, “If you want to grow, fail and push forward.”
She also opined that if one is not experiencing failure, then it reflects that they are not taking more risks to be successful. “Don’t be afraid to start because you might fail,” she adds in the video.

She accepts that, “It may be hard to hear but you NEED TO FAIL.” She reiterated her words in the caption, “Failure CANT be AVOIDED if pushing limits. Go out and FAIL and push FORWARD.” She overcame so many obstacles in life following this mantra. Granny Guns is potent enough to work out beyond boundaries. After talking about workouts, Flowers slowly navigated to lifting weights, which is her passion now.

Marlene Flowers had her share of struggles handling health issues and eating disorders. The turning point in her life, however, came in the form of surgery. After going under the knife, the social media influencer realized the importance of fitness and took to training.
Flowers catapulted from fitness to bodybuilding because of her son. “My son is my trainer, and he is the one that got me into weightlifting,” she says with a sense of pride, per Pittsburgh CityPaper. She even shares her bodybuilding journey with her followers on various social media handles.
