Samson Dauda has been on the cusp of winning the Olympia for a while now. Among the newcomers who graced the stage in 2022, Dauda became a standout winning the 2023 Arnold Classic and earning a bronze medal at last year’s Olympia. However, after losing his Arnold Classic crown to Hadi Choopan this year, The Nigerian Lion is hard at work improving his weaknesses at the O2 gym.
The bodybuilding sensation posted a physique update on Instagram earlier with the caption, “All back.” The former Arnold Classic champion showed his incredible back development. Samson Dauda stood in the doorway of the gym and hit a back-double biceps pose to showcase his gains. The bodybuilder seemed to have uncooked a new level of muscularity, exciting fans.
When The Nigerian Lion stepped on the Olympia stage for the first time, fans and judges said Dauda’s back was one of his weaker body parts. However, slowly but surely, the IFBB Pro has been working to fix his weaknesses. Dauda showcased an improved back at the 2023 Mr. Olympia and at this year’s Arnold Classic. Yet, it wasn’t enough to beat former Mr. Olympia Hadi Choopan.

However, Samson Dauda displayed an improved definition in his lower and mid-back in his latest update. While the bodybuilder from England always had a developed upper back, he seemed to have added mass to his traps. The champion bodybuilder has also worked to make his genetically gifted lat insertions more visible. The fans certainly think that Samson Dauda is on the right track.
Fans fancy Samson Dauda’s chances at the 2024 Mr. Olympia
Bodybuilding fans thought Samson Dauda, with an improved back and better conditioning, should have no trouble winning the Olympia. “If he comes in the Olympia with a much bigger back and great conditioning, I don’t see how Hadi or Derek can beat him,“ wrote one fan. Although Dauda is working on his back, conditioning remains an issue. However, IFBB Classic Physique pro Michael Daboul encouraged Dauda to keep making steady progress. “Brick by brick. No weaknesses,“ wrote Daboul.

Most experts and fans criticized Samson Dauda’s lack of conditioning compared to Hadi Choopan at the Arnold Classic in Ohio and the UK. However, others were confident in the Nigerian Lion’s ability to improve rapidly. “Hell yeah bro, getting better by the day,“ commented one fan. “The improvements from the back are staggering!! Always upping the levels mate,“ wrote another. “Dude that back is growing!“ a third fan stated.
Samson Dauda changed coaches after the Arnold Classic disappointment. His wife is now training the bodybuilder while experts with the O2 team are helping the Nigerian Lion improve. Although he is showing results, only time will tell whether it earns him an Olympia.
