Calum Von Moger had a meteoric rise to the top of the bodybuilding fitness world in the late 2010s. Von Moger even collaborated with the then-future King of Classic Physique, Chris Bumstead, and fans envisioned the Australian would have an equally successful future. However, a series of unfortunate events and mental health issues led the bodybuilder to fight for his life in 2021.

At the height of his popularity, Calum Von Moger portrayed the younger version of bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger on the silver screen. While Von Moger’s popularity has declined after the many devastating incidents that he went through, the bodybuilder has hinted at his comeback. However, not everyone is stoked at the possibility of the 33-year-old’s return.

Calum Von Moger hit his first obstacle when he tore his bicep doing tandem bicep curls with now-five-time Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead. However, things got worse shortly after he recovered. The bodybuilder broke his knee while trying to rappel down a cliff. What’s worse? He tore his left bicep for the second time while trying to save himself.

Back-to-back injuries and career setbacks affected Von Moger’s mental health. However, his tribulations wouldn’t end as he got arrested for possession of ste***ds. While the bodybuilder avoided prison, his mental health took a downward turn. Several unsavory incidents followed, and the once-promising bodybuilder couldn’t cope with the pressure.

The 33-year-old jumped from his second-story window and had to be rushed to the ICU. However, the bodybuilding star has seemingly turned his life around for the last two years. Despite losing his temper to depression, Von Moger has stayed strong and, after two years of serious training, is looking to step on the bodybuilding stage once again. However, many reacted negatively to his potential return.

The bodybuilder received mixed reactions from the fitness community

Many bodybuilding fans didn’t seem enthusiastic about Calum Von Moger’s return. They even left discouraging comments. “Until he gets injured again or the gear messes his head up again,” commented one fan. Another fan was skeptical about the potential comeback and even ready to wager that the Aussie bodybuilder would fail again.

“If he does (comeback)… Where are we gonna start the wagers on how long it takes till he falls off the wagon?” the fan wrote. “Why bother? If you can’t be professional and need to behave like a clown for attention on social media and hurt yourself repeatedly doing so… You have no business competing,” wrote another However, not everyone wanted to see the bodybuilder fail.

“Everyone deserves a chance to redeem themselves,” commented one fan. “Crazy how people would rather sh*t on someone than root for ’em,” wrote one, surprised to see so many people wish for the bodybuilder to fail yet again. While Calum Von Moger may not reach the pinnacle of competitive bodybuilding, he seems determined to get back on track.
