Jay Cutler recently took to his official YouTube channel @JayCutlerTV and shared a YT short video, where he was seen sharing snippets from his arms workout. He begins the video by pulling out a smooth set of seated bicep curls. As he got over with his set, that was when he came to the secret workout that he preferred the most.
He said, “I’m going to do some standing bar curls, okay? They’re gonna be sloppy, but they’re going to be effective. Okay. Let’s check this out.” He began with 80 kgs, where he generally starts with 70 kg, and managed to pull out 12 reps with it. Well, Cutler even added that normally people start with the standing bar curls, but for him it is different.

Even in the video, he began with the seated ones and then moved to the trick. Well, he concluded with the fact that form is also of utter importance while you are pulling out the set. Cutler had once advised fitness enthusiasts about a better alternative for squats, that according to him will help one gain massive quads.

Jay Cutler prefers the leg press machine over squats
Even though legends like Tom Platz made massive gains using squats, Jay Cutler’s priorities have always been safety and longevity. He used to train with utmost precautions himself to get maximum growth. For him, the only important thing was to ensure that enough stimulus was provided to the muscles so that they could grow. However, he never preferred getting heavy on volume or weight.

Although squats are proven to be beneficial, some people struggle with it, and for them, he said, “If you find squatting is an issue for any of those reasons, fixed position machines like the leg press (with full range of motion) can give you enough scope to build a ton of muscle until you can squat again.”
