Jeremy Buendia ruled the Men’s Physique Olympia stage for four years under Hany Rambod. However, after a prolonged four-year break, many doubted the champion’s abilities. Earlier, while addressing these concerns, Buendia also explained how his tattoo was closely connected to his bodybuilding legacy. According to Buendia, both his tattoo and his championship legacy are unfinished.

The former Men’s Physique Olympia champion shared a clip of himself speaking at a public event. “I put this tattoo on my neck. My tallies… How many Olympias I (have) won,” explained the four-time champion. The bodybuilding icon said his goal was to get five tally marks.

“I have unfinished business,” said the Men’s Physique Olympia winner. “I had a lot of nay-sayers telling me that I was a ‘has been,’ that the division has outgrown me,” said the bodybuilder about his 2023 return. However, the former champion is confident in the physique that he built for the 2023 Olympia after the hiatus adding that it was the best version of his physique.

Although Jeremy Buendia finished eighth at the 2023 Olympia, he is confident that he has what it takes to beat the reigning Men’s Physique Olympia champion Ryan Terry. In fact, the bodybuilding icon even trained with the champion recently. “You might be my friend but when I step on that stage, I’m coming from that title,” Buendia told Terry.

So, the former Olympia winner has set out to prove the doubters wrong once again. Buendia isn’t on a break and has been training to regain his title. In fact, the man who once defined the Men’s Physique division is confident that he’ll climb to the top of the metaphorical hill once again at this year’s Mr. Olympia contest. However, this doesn’t seem an easy task.

A division full of former Olympia winners

Jeremy Buendia ruled the Men’s Physique division from 2014 to 2017. However, in his absence, Brandon Hendrickson emerged as a multiple-time Men’s Physique Olympia champion, winning the title three times. However, Erin Banks and Ryan Terry have broken Hendrickson’s streak. Buendia has to defeat three former champions to reclaim his throne.

Brandon Hendrickson, Ryan Terry, and Erin Banks will prove to be formidable opponents for the four-time champion. However, Buendia committed himself to competing against them in the 2024 Mr. Olympia just two days after the 2023 edition. So, it would seem that the former title holder is more determined than ever.
