In a recent video uploaded on his JayCutlerTV YouTube channel, Jay Cutler talked about his top six essential leg exercises one by one. The first key to his captivating legs is the ‘seated leg curl’, which is helpful in building a good amount of muscle mass. Sharing his experience, Cutler said, This has always been my number one exercise. In fact when I lived in Massachusetts, okay, I lived in Worcester and I end up choosing to go to a gym in Framingham Mass, which is probably 25 minutes away when I had one, like, right next door to my house, just to use a seated leg curl.

Seated leg curl is often performed with a leg curl machine. On the machine, one has to sit in an upright position while contracting ab muscles. After that, one is needed to lift their legs until the knees are straight. Now, coming back down to the actual position after a few minutes. Cutler reveals that seated leg curl is effective for targeting the hamstring and he often does three reps of the exercise. He performed the exercise setting the weight up to 130lbs.

Talking about the second leg exercise, Cutler practices stiff leg deadlifts. The former Mr. Olympia used to have the barbell while doing this exercise. He never used a dumbbell with it until there came a golden time for him when he won the Olympia competition. Then he started training his hamstrings more intensely and started using dumbbells for stiff leg deadlifts. While people normally do it straight, Jay Cutler has a little bend. He said,I have a little bend in the knee bringing some of the glutes. It works basically overall the glutes, hamstrings, I mean, obviously the whole backside.”

Cutler’s third leg exercise is the lying leg curl. The bodybuilding legend revealed that this movement is effective in pumping up the hamstring. After this, he moved to intra-workout nutrition. It is basically his carbohydrate drink that he consumes during his leg training. Then Cutler does the leg extension exercise to target the outer head of the quad. His last exercise is the Roger Squat. It is a variation of the ‘best exercise’ he has ever done.
