Mr. Olympia 2023 just concluded its long week of competition and entertainment and, just like before, Chris Bumstead was crowned the winner of Classic Physique for the fifth time. As soon as his name was announced, the 28-year-old bodybuilding champion breathed a sigh of relief. He was waiting with bated breath and closed his eyes, but after the announcement he had a broad smile on his face, and was ready to embrace the honor.

While accepting the trophy and the golden medal, Bumstead gave a fiery and heartfelt speech about his journey into bodybuilding. He thanked his family and friends and also had some advice for his fans about not letting go of goals. The most interesting thing was when the host started to lure him into something greater.

After getting the trophy, the bodybuilding pro, and now the newly crowned five-time Mr. Olympia winner spoke about his training process. He said that this year was more challenging than the others, but it was special as well. Bumstead thanked his fianc?, as well as his parents, and confessed his love for them.

The audience erupted in applause, and the cheers were loud and clear. However, the host was not done yet. Bob Chick was impressed by his speech, but he had his own proposition to make in front of everyone. He said, ?Chris I got nothing to add to that spoke like a true champion. Once again you?re no stranger to the winner circle no signs of slowing down any time soon. People keep asking do you have one more year in you, Chris???

After delving into the question, he straightaway went to the point and talked about open division. Chick stated, ?People want you to go to the Open. Probably isn?t a bad idea $400,000 is a good reason to do that?? As soon as he said this, the audience again, erupted in applause and laughter, since Bob Chick was trying to lure Bumstead into open division by talking about the prize money! Bumstead has not given any updates about his future plans yet. However, his champion mentality was on full display for the fans.

In a previous Instagram post, Bumstead made a statement where he said that the Sandow trophy is not the only thing he was excited about. He was more profound and said that his personal growth was also as important as the trophy. Thus, in his post, he wrote, ?I always understood it would be a mental game to stay at the top and I was willing to do almost anything to be mentally strong enough. But I was not willing to sacrifice who I was to win.??

He talked about how he changed as an individual while preparing for the process of winning the Sandow trophy. CBum wrote, ?I am hell a lot more proud of who I was to win it. Who I became in the process of winning it. Champion mentality is the endless pursuit of being the best man I can be, regardless of if this trophy comes home with.?
