The bodybuilding arena brought Arnold Schwarzenegger fame in America for his physique. Later, he switched to acting and became a part of the film Pumping Iron, a docudrama on professional bodybuilding, through which he helped the sport get recognized globally. Further, his Hollywood career in the 1980s promulgated him to universal acclaim, with his “Hasta La vista, baby” dialogue becoming a catchphrase worldwide. However, in 2023, Hollywood is in crisis as the actor’s union is on a SAG-AFTRA strike.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, who is following his father’s suit as an actor, joined the strike a fortnight ago and now applauds the million-dollar contribution made by elite actors of Hollywood, which included his superstar father.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, the eldest son of Arnie, is vocal about his thoughts on various aspects. From his interest in hunting UFOs to his fear of his spirit animal, the 29-year-old keeps his authentic self in front of his followers. The actor participated in last month’s rally for the SAG-AFTRA strike. Almost a fortnight after the strike started, the A-list actors of Hollywood expressed their support in the form of monetary donations.

Discussing Film on X (previously Twitter) shared a post listing actors who have donated $1 million to the SAG relief fund. The list includes Oprah, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck, Nicole Kidman, Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively, and Patrick’s Terminator father, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Patrick Schwarzenegger retweeted the post and captioned it “Nice”.

BuzzFeed reported that Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, was the first to donate to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. The SAG-AFTRA foundation president, Courtney B. Vance, confirmed that emergency aid requests are on the rise due to the ongoing strike, with over “400 applications” in the past week. So, the donations from the elite stars come as a respite as the strike continues. Earlier, the Midnight Sun actor took to the streets holding placards confirming his solidarity with the strike.

Artificial Intelligence is gaining speed with ChatGPT, solving quizzes, writing stories, and answering extremely complex questions. Hollywood also embraced the AI boom, raising concerns in the lower hierarchy. The 1,60,000 members of the American actor’s union joined the Writers Guild of America on July 14th for better pay and protection against the ongoing AI invasion into creative fields.

Despite being a hub for the highest-paid actors in the world, Hollywood is crippled by pay parity. As a result, the ongoing strike demands better pay from the production houses. The rising AI boom is also a cause of concern for the actors and writers, and they have demanded clauses related to it.
