To achieve a physique akin to professional bodybuilders, many individuals experiment and adopt various approaches to their training routine. Jeff Nippard, bodybuilder and fitness influencer, who identifies as a natural bodybuilder, recently shared some tips about staying in the best shape. However, IFBB pro coach Greg Doucette challenged this method advocated by the influencer.

In a recent Instagram post, Doucette expressed deviation regarding Nippard’s methods, highlighting a disagreement in their perspective on achieving significant fitness goals. Doucette is known for his brutal critiques in the bodybuilding community. And his recent video is all about challenging science-based techniques.

In the video snippet, Greg Doucette talks about a study where people built muscle without lifting heavy weights. He questions if it’s practical. The 48-year-old emphasizes that it is easier to gain muscle during initial training years, but it gets harder over time. He criticizes the reliance on studies, which was shared by Nippard. Doucette states that studies cannot predict individual results accurately and might not be like real-life situations.

Doucette explained, “Jeff does not like to train harder than last time he does not like to push himself he believes in science-based training, and sometimes people who listen to science forget about really training intensely.” The IFBB Pro Bodybuilder believes that weightlifters can build more muscles by pushing themselves hard during a drill. This includes going to the point where they can’t do more reps, “train to failure.”

According to him, the idea is that by giving their best effort and pushing their limits, weightlifters can stimulate more muscle growth and achieve better results even after a failed session. It wasn’t the first time that Doucette touched the topic of going against general opinion, openly supporting a supplement.

Doucette advocates a supplement to boost performance in the gym

In his previous Instagram post, the Guinness World Record holder emphasized the benefits of the Beta-Alanine supplement. He said it has lactic acid, helps do more reps, and prevents tiredness during cardio. As skepticism arose, Doucette stressed scientific evidence showing a one percent to three percent performance boost.

Beta-alanine is an amino acid that creates carnosine, aiding muscle endurance. Doucette further advised using it with proper medical guidance. In defying one scientific method of weight lifting, he supports scientific results to endorse a significant performance-enhancing supplement.
