

Derek Lunsford has had a great year so far. Winning the Mr. Olympia 2023, Lunsford broke Hadi Choopan’s dream of winning two consecutive titles. Lifting the Sandow trophy this year also made him the only bodybuilder in the history of the event to place first in two different categories, the 212 Olympia and the Open category.
Despite the victory, Lunsford often had to bear the brunt of hate from fans of the Persian Wolf. When a similar comment was seen below one of his recent posts, a Lunsford fan gave the hater a befitting reply.

Lunsford, recently took to Instagram to showcase of his training videos, which had a voice-over that detailed his dedication towards fitness. “Some have it. Others wish for it. How bad do you really want it?” he wrote in the caption of the video.

On the other hand, in the comments section of a video, a user stated, “Apologise to Hadi.” Responding to what can be seen as yet another inference to how the result of the Mr. Olympia panned out, a Derek Lunsford fan instantly stated the obvious reason why Lunsford won the trophy. He commented, “For what? Being better??”
Even after receiving hate and criticism after winning the event, Lunsford has stayed as calm as he can be.

Lunsford’s way of dealing with the situation
When the whole of the bodybuilding world was split between the Choopan-Derek controversy and who should have won, Derek Lunsford left a caption in one of his Instagram stories. Lunsford penned, “I just wanna see everyone win in life. So, if you’re reading this, I am rooting for you.” The thoroughly tolerating nature of Lunsford might be one of the reasons why his fans try to defend him against the harsh haters.
