Years after he retired from professional bodybuilding, Yates revealed how he was in a tough situation that could only be changed with a consistent mind.

Dorian Yates’s Mantra of Consistency

In his very latest Instagram post, Yates commented on how he had found bodybuilding as the most prominent goal of his life. In order to maintain his position in the race, he knew he had to be consistent. He wrote in the caption of his post, “Consistent in training, consistent in sticking to my diet, consistent with the whole lifestyle that comes with being a professional athlete. I knew that for me, it was bodybuilding taken as far as I could possibly go… or nothing!”

Moreover, the bodybuilder also made it clear how he did not have any other inclinations besides bodybuilding. He stated, “For me, it was sink or swim. This is why I preach ‘applied consistency’!” Yates always promoted the advantages of being consistent in order to succeed.

Although Yates preaches consistency, it does not mean that he asks people to work out for longer hours. Instead, the legend implored his fans to follow something else.

Dorian Yates’ advice regarding gym hours

Dorian Yates firmly believes that instead of working hard for a prolonged time, if a bodybuilder works for fewer hours and with much more intensity, they are likely to get better results. In one of this posts, he wrote, “When it comes to bodybuilding, less is actually more… if the intensity is there! Short, hard, intense workouts are what I recommend.” He also mentioned how one does not need to complicate this simple thing if one wants to benefit from their training regimes.

Dorian Yates proposed how consistency can help a bodybuilder leap from an ordinary situation to something extremely extraordinary and life-changing.
