However, the domination of a particular type over others always prevails. Fat shaming is one such facet of the judgemental world. Now, even the retired WWE champion is a victim of body shaming.

Dave Bautista is known for his WWE career and revered by the MCU fans for his portrayal of the alien character, Drax the Destroyer, in the Guardians of the Galaxy series. However, the actor in his fifties decided to quit, citing body image issues.

Dave Bautista’s plight of body shaming

The 54-year-old has always been in the limelight with his wrestling career and acting stints. The career path he chose required him to train hard at the gym. Despite crediting bodybuilding for saving life, Bautista is finding it hard to get a chiseled body at 54. In his fifties, Bautista is fat-shamed for his latest appearance in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Describing the plight of Bautista, a fitness influencer shared a clip on his YouTube channel named, Paris Demers. While narrating the story of the actor, the clip shared, “Over the past few years, David has been open about the fact that he’s done with playing Drax, talking about how it’s only gotten harder.

Unable to maintain a ripped physique, Bautista played the role of Drax with a shirt on in the 2023 edition of the movie. But when the photos from the sets went viral, he was fat-shamed for his appearance. The post made the fitness community come in support of Bautista. 

Fans react by condemning body shaming

The bodybuilding community slammed body shaming comments. A thoughtful fan commented, “I think it’s so really stupid and disrespectful to Dave, for fu*k sake he’s 54 years old, and he used and abused his body doing wrestling for years. It’s hard enough maintaining such a physique when healthy at that age, imagine with the injuries he received.

Hes the best leave Bautista alone!!!” wrote another follower appreciating Bautista’s physique. “It’s Sad, how people feel the need to talk down about people,” confessed a dismayed user. “People need to get a grip, ” suggested a comment. “He still look good. He just need to maintain his shape,” opined another follower.

Body shaming has become intense with the emergence of social media, and actors are expected to maintain a ripped physique for their roles in Hollywood. However, there is a certain section of the community that spreads positivity, and the comments to this post reflect it.
