Two-time Mr. Olympia runner-up Rich Gaspari was among the best bodybuilders of his time. While the Arnold Classic champion stopped competing decades ago, he never let go of the bodybuilding lifestyle. Despite being 60 years old, he still grinds in the gym regularly. However, some fans recently commented harshly on the bodybuilding legend’s physique.

These bodybuilding enthusiasts criticized the 60-year-old bodybuilder, saying he looked out of shape. Gaspari had posted the video showing arm blaster dumbbell curls. The former champion labeled them A good variation of alternate DB curls. However, the critics focused on the bodybuilding veteran’s physique rather than his advice.

So Rich Gaspari hit back at the critics. He posted a photo showing off visible six-pack abs, and striated quads. For all the haters who said I was fat after my last post doing arm blaster curls. Still have abs and cuts in my legs. This is at 60 and I will get into even better shape as summer is coming, stated the bodybuilding legend.

Gaspari’s friend, the seven-time 212 Olympia winner Flex Lewis, had his back in the comments. I travel the world with you, been by your side, day in day out months on end, and I’ve never seen a more dedicated CEO/retired athlete, wrote Lewis. The 40-year-old former champion gave a glimpse into Gaspari’s lifestyle.

He stated that the Arnold Classic champion still ate every 2hrs, didn’t miss a training session, even whilst traveling on a plane for over 20hrs or working an expo for 12. You truly live the life. Fans of the 80s-bodybuilding star also wrote in support. They advised Rich Gaspari to ignore the haters.

However, this isn’t the first time the bodybuilding icon got scrutinized in one of his videos. Lee Haney’s training partner drummed up quite the controversy after the 2022 Mr. Olympia.

When Rich Gaspari compared two bodybuilding eras

The Gaspari Nutrition founder compared 2022 Mr. Olympia Hadi Choopan’s back with six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates from 1992. Gaspari wrote in the comparison post, As you see over 30 years ago guys were much harder than today.” He mentioned that another competitive bodybuilder (unnamed) from the 90s had sent him the comparison photo and asked for people’s opinions.

However, the post stirred up a huge controversy among bodybuilding fans. Even Hadi Choopan commented on the bodybuilding icon’s post. “It’s like comparing a picture of your arm with Ronnie Coleman’s arm, do you think it’s a correct comparison?” questioned Choopan. However, Gaspari didn’t change his stance that 90s bodybuilders had superior conditioning.

So, it’s safe to say this wasn’t the first or the last time people criticized the 60-year-old despite his bodybuilding achievements. What do you think of Rich Gaspari’s physique? Write your thoughts in the comments.
