Having secured the position of the highest international deadlift among anyone in his age and weight class, where he lifted a whopping 3,425 kgs, Nathaniel Massiah feels that it is more than just genetics that helps in building enough power to beat your records. Massiah believes that the most important thing to build up your power is to have a strong foundation.

He says, “I would recommend focusing on building more muscle.” According to him, even if you believe your body can outlift someone heavier than you, do not go on lifting heavier than your muscle mass. Beating your PRs becomes easier when you have more muscle mass in the body.
